Advanced Digital Dentist focus on Cosmetic Dental Services

Introduction to Cosmetic Dentistry

Confidence with your smile can boost your self-esteem. Often this means considering dental care options to maintain a healthy mouth and some that are dedicated to improving the appearance of your teeth.

Options to consider include teeth whitening, dental crowns, veneers, implants or a complete smile makeover.  We are glad to have this discussion with you and explore options.  Treatment may include a simple procedure completed in one visit or complex procedures completed over multiple visits where we work closely with dental specialists.

The goal of cosmetic dentistry is to provide a smile that you have always wanted! Changes may include the color, position, shape, size, and alignment of your teeth.  Replacing missing teeth can improve your smile and jaw stability. Your smile can become brighter, healthier and benefit from our choice of today’s cosmetically pleasing dental materials.

Popular Cosmetic Treatments

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic dentistry procedure that can remove pigments trapped within the enamel of your teeth, not just the surface stain. This procedure may significantly brighten your smile, but results may vary for individuals.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are thin coatings of bonding or porcelain placed over the front of your teeth to improve dental conditions such as chipped teeth, discolored teeth or minor tooth misalignment.

Dental Bonding and Crowns

Dental bonding involves the application of tooth-colored resin to a tooth to repair missing tooth structure, damage or decay. The restoration can most likely be completed in one visit and the result is cosmetically pleasing.  Updating older restorations, removing decay or covering enamel imperfections are conditions when we may consider dental bonding.  Large amounts of missing or damaged tooth structure may require an esthetic dental crown restoration for support and function.  Older crowns with signs of wear and visible areas of metal exposed often require replacement. Difficullty cleaning and decay around the edge of the older crown indicates the need for treatment. The solution is placement of a single visit all ceramic crown.

Our in-office CAD-CAM technology allows scanning  of your tooth instead of a messy impression and no need for a temporary crown or return visit. The crown is designed and completed right here in one visit. Our patients are pleased and have benefited from this technology for over 20 years!

Implants

Missing teeth can be evaluated for an implant restoration. This requires multiple visits. The implant replaces the missing root and is restored with precision fit components resulting in a natural looking implant abutment and crown restoration.

Endodontic treatment – Root Canals

Broken teeth that have damaged nerves or infections can be evaluated for root canal therapy.  This allows the tooth root to be retained after the infection is treated and canal system is sealed.  Once the root canal is completed, the next step is to restore the tooth. Placement of a post and crown restoration can restore the tooth to a natural appearance.

Orthodontics to Straighten Teeth - Braces/Aligners

The benefits of straight, well aligned teeth improve your smile, benefit your jaw relationship and improve your ability to maintain your oral health. Braces and aligners are used to change the position and relationship of teeth. Hardly visible clear aligners make cleaning your teeth easy while in treatment. This is a popular adult treatment choice.  Traditional braces may be required for more complex tooth movement treatment. Orthodontic specialists can evaluate and propose a treatment plan that will work best for your smile.

Factors to consider when selecting treatment choices:

Complexity: Complex treatment choices will require more time, commitment and expense. Dental specialists may be recommended for evaluation or to complete treatment steps.

Materials: Material used in the procedures impact treatment time, longevity and cost. Alternate treatment options, costs and benefits will be discussed before deciding on a treatment plan.

Your dental health: Your overall dental health and medical history should be considered when making treatment choices.  Treatment of urgent needs and an overall evaluation to address underlying dental issues are necessary steps in achieving a healthy, lifetime smile!

Insurance and Payment

We accept all major credit cards and CareCredit. We are glad to work with you to help make your dental care possible.

Dental insurance can help cover some expenses. Treatment decisions and expenses are the responsibility of the patient. Most dental insurance plans do not cover 100% of dental treatment. Deductibles and yearly maximums are common. Please familiarize yourself with your plan. We are glad to help and estimate coverage. Please check with your insurance provider to fully understand your coverage. Plans have exclusions and limitations. Please track your expenses for visits to dental specialists outside of our office. This will reduce your available dental benefits and we will not be aware of these amounts. Most insurance providers do not cover dental treatment provided for only cosmetic reasons.  Most dental treatment involves improving or maintaining your dental health. There can be a cosmetic benefit with many of the services provided at your visits.

Smile Maintenance

Extending the longevity of your smile with cosmetic dentistry requires maintenance. Follow instructions and recommendations provided during your dental treatment. Your commitment to a recommended home care routine and scheduling preventative care visits keeps your oral health on the right track.
